BEREAN BAPTIST CHURCH MUSIC MINISTRY
ADULT CHOIR MINISTRY
The choir ministry is for church members who have at least reached their 16th birthday and have not only a love for singing, but some musical ability to sing. You don't need to have a music degree to be a part of the centerpiece of Berean's music program, only a desire to serve the Lord in this area and the ability to faithfully meet for our scheduled rehearsals. The choir rehearses each Sunday morning from 8:45 until 9:45, just before our Life Connection Groups meet for Bible classes. Extra rehearsals may be called as special needs arise, such as preparations for an Easter or Christmas program.
The orchestra ministry is for church members who have at least reached their 16th birthday and have musical ability to play an instrument. Reading music or chord charts are necessary in being a part of this important worship ministry. The orchestra meets to rehearse each Sunday morning from 8:15 until 8:45, just before our choir meets for rehearsal. The psalmist declares to "make a joyful noise" as we worship the Lord, and those in that day did so using all manner of instruments, including stringed and percussive instruments! Every orchestra member who plays enjoys playing for the Lord!
The special music ministry is for those who serve in the choir and orchestra ministries. Specialists must be a faithful member of one of those ministries to serve in this specialized ministry. Specialists are scheduled a month in advance to present music and songs that will be honoring to Christ and a blessing to the church.
Here at Berean, we love to encourage our children to sing and use their musical talents for the Lord! We have a children's choir for any aged child - which also prepares them for being a part of the adult choir when they reach their 16th birthday. The children's choirs present music throughout the year during worship services, and especially for special days, such as Easter and Christmas.
