We are implementing a Praise Team Ministry
Up to now, we have relied on the sanctuary choir to help the Worship Pastor lead the congregation. Now, we want to implement a praise team to further enhance the worship ministry of Berean. We are looking for several teams of three (soprano, alto, tenor) to make up our praise team ministry.
Application Process
This information will help you prepare for the upcoming application process. Please read over the information before arriving.
Dates: Sunday, May 1st and May 15th (please contact Robert if neither of those dates work for you)
Time: beginning at 1:30 pm at 15 minute intervals
Location: choir rehearsal room
How do I acquire an interview time? upon receiving your application a time slot will be worked out between you and Robert (first come, first serve)
What should I do with my completed application? If you fill it out online make sure you submit it online after you complete it. If you fill it out by hand, mail it or bring it to the church office before the appointment.
Application Process
Your audition will take approximately 15 minutes
The only persons present at the appointment will be Robert & Carol
Those applying will wait outside the choir room until it is their time.
We will look over your application together and talk a little.
You will be asked to sing a song you have selected (please make it a song of a praise and worship nature. If you have a track, please bring it. If not, please bring sheet music. If you need help with this, please let Robert know ahead of time.)
You will then be asked to sing a familiar hymn of Robert's choosing.
You will also be asked to learn a harmony part by ear. You will be asked to sing as a part of a trio to the best of your ability.
Selected Song Info:
When you come to the appointment, please bring your selected song.
You can use accompaniment CD, piano accompaniment or sing a cappella. If you use a piano accompanist, please be sure to practice with that person before you arrive. Your selected song should be a song that you are very familiar with and can sing comfortably. It does not need to show off your vocal range, but should be a song that you are able to communicate with your voice.
Please, be prepared.
Lastly, there is no need to fear this process. Everyone is treated kindly and will receive support and encouragement.

If you are selected to be part of the Praise Team, you will be asked to commit to this ministry for at least a year. Please to not apply if you cannot commit to being in your spot for rehearsal and service. Also, if you are sensitive and cannot handle rejection, please do not apply.
