The radio ministry of Berean Baptist Church is called The Authentic Life, a name that reminds us what the Christian life should really be. The term authentic means genuine, real, or true; it is to have an origin that is supported by unquestionable evidence. As with every generation, today’s Christians must examine themselves in light of God’s written revelation in the Bible and ask the tough questions. Am I an authentic Christian? Is my faith real, genuine and true? Does the evidence in my life support my claim to be a follower of Christ?
The New Testament, and especially the book of Acts, presents apostolic Christianity in its earliest and purest form. Instead of legalism, factions, fads and fakes, the Bible records that believers were firmly convinced of the historicity of the resurrection of Jesus and they enjoyed genuine Christian fellowship as they learned the Word of God, prayed, and grew in their faith. Fervent evangelism through the ministry of Peter, Paul, Apollos, Barnabas, Philip, Aquila, Priscilla, Silas and others
The Authentic Life has three core goals. First and foremost, it is our intent that the gospel of Jesus Christ be clearly and accurately presented on the radio. We are confident that the God of the Bible has not changed, that people need and will still hear the truth, and that the gospel has the power to reach and transform lives, families and communities. Second, it is our desire to broadcast solid, expositional teaching from the Word of God that will encourage and enrich believers as they commit to and continue in the authentic Christian life. Finally, God has burdened our church with the desire to plant 5 new churches in the next 10 years in Houston and surrounding areas. We believe that The Authentic Life will facilitate church planting by helping us see where God is working in the lives of people who would desire to be a part of a Berean church plant so that we would invest ourselves as the Spirit leads. Please pray that God would bless this ministry in mighty ways.
